Ray COONEY
Funny Money
Ray Cooney’s farce Funny Money is about middle-aged Henry Perkins, who on his way home to his birthday party, when getting off the train, accidentally picks up the wrong briefcase that contains instead of his usual sandwiches, a large bulk of bankrolls. As it is quite evident from the amount of money that it has to do with some criminal transaction, Henry intends to flee with the money and his wife, yet all kinds of unforeseeable events occur and cross their path, then grow into a huge web of misunderstandings with the police and the mob involved, with envious friends and relatives and all that with extraordinary humour.
