TESTOSTERONE concert

Last year marked the 10th anniversary of the Testosterone Theatre Band, founded by Alfréd Nagy, Zalán Zakariás and László Lóránt Márton, which held its first concert on World Theatre Day 2013 and has since had several highly successful performances, but in recent years has been less and less active. This year, one day before New Year’s Eve, the actors will once again take the microphone and play their instruments, but this time with a slightly different line-up, with guest artists and a production based on the music of our performances.

According to project leader Bence Kónya-Ütő, the time of the actors’ band is over, or at least the trend that led to the creation of several actors’ bands in Transylvania has passed. “It’s no coincidence that bands don’t do theatre performances, and it would be justified the other way round. You can do these shows for fun for a while, but we are not good enough musicians to do it regularly,” he said. So they changed the concept slightly, this time drawing inspiration from our performances’ music from the last 5-10 years.

So the new Testosterone Party will be a bit more “sedentary” than their previous concerts, but for the first time all the company’s actors will perform, and the festive performance will also feature renowned guest artists such as Botond Szőcs (piano), Álmos Gáspár (guitar), Zsófia Ráduly (violin), and Zalán Zakariás (guitar), who is currently the artistic director of the National Theatre of Győr.
