After The Tempest came a shower of awards

The company of the Tamási Áron Theatre returned home with four prestigious awards from the National Comedy Festival in Galați, where they presented William Shakespeare’s The Tempest, directed by Viktor Bodó.

At the 37th edition of the Galați Comedy Festival, held from 10th to 18th October, the production of The Tempest, along with its director and two actors, received awards. The production was recognised for the freshness of its aesthetic expression, whilst director Viktor Bodó was honoured for “translating the classical drama into a post-dramatic theatrical language”. Among the actors, Bence Kónya-Ütő was awarded for his nuanced portrayal of Caliban, whilst Janka Korodi won the Mihai Mihail Prize, awarded by the acting company of the Fani Tardini Drama Theatre in Galați, for her portrayal of Ariel.

The four awards represent significant professional recognition of the collective work of the Sfântu Gheorghe theatre company. Congratulations to the award winners and to everyone involved in the production!
